About us
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
The Dermatology Department is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and provides services to Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire region. Last year approximately 40,000 patients attended the Department (around 10% of patients had suspected skin cancers, requiring a first appointment within 14 days of referral). The Department has access to two Mohs surgeons, three in-house theatres, space in the Trust's new Minor Operation Procedure Suite (MOPS), a phototherapy suite and specialists in the identification and management of contact dermatitis, acne and psoriasis. Our consultants, specialist doctors and nurses carry out over 2,700 surgeries a year. The Department provides clinical support to the Sheffield Children's Hospital and works closely with doctors and nurses in Primary Care, who have specialist interest in dermatology, to deliver minor skin surgery services in the community.
Our aim is to provide the very best standard of care to patients, across the region, requiring dermatological services and to support the multidisciplinary skin cancer service within the Trust.
