We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join our expanding pharmacy team. Being one of the biggest pharmacy departments in the country, the team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust comprises of approximately 500 pharmacy staff working across five sites.

This advert is an opportunity to apply for either Dispensary based Technician posts or Medicines Management Technician posts within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Applicants must have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in The Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. However, students who qualify this winter may apply and will commence at Agenda for Change Band 3 until the registration process is complete.

Main duties of the job

In either role you will be part of a progressive pharmacy team providing a vital service to our patients here at STH. Each role is varied day to day providing medication for inpatients, outpatients and discharge medications along with patient counselling and working with specialised teams and treatments.

As this is a progression role you will initially start as a band 4 technician (dependent on experience) and work towards band 5 undertaking competencies and developing your skills along the pathway. Full training and mentorship will be provided in each role and as a department we offer support and continued professional development opportunities throughout your career.
