Vickers 2 is seeking a highly motivated Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead an exceptional team and drive outstanding patient care.

Vickers 2 is a specialised acute ward dedicated to the management of patients with complex diabetes and endocrine conditions. Main duties of the job

As the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical and operational management of the ward. You will lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong leadership and mentorship to the nursing team.
  • Managing staff rotas, appraisals, and professional development.
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical governance and Trust standards.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and championing best practices in diabetes and endocrine care.

What We're Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant experience in acute care, ideally within diabetes or endocrine specialties.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

About us

GRaDE Care Group is comprised of 3 clinical directorates:

  • Diabetes and Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology and Hepatology
  • Respiratory Medicine

All three directorates operate on the Northern and Central campus' although the acute admitting base for all of the specialties is at the Northern General Hospital. The Care Group has 11 acute base wards at the Northern General Hospital and one acute and one elective base ward at the Central Campus. Outpatient services operate on both campus' and are supported by the Patient Booking Hub at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
