An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to enhance the team of Orderlies in Emergency Medicine.
The Directorate wishes to recruit a flexible customer-focussed individual to work within the Orderly team across Acute and Emergency Medicine (Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit). You will be primarily responsible for transporting patients to other wards and we are looking for an individual who can work independently as an Orderly whilst integrating into the wider departmental team of Doctors, Nurses and Support Staff.
Our Orderly Team provides an invaluable service transporting patients on beds, trolleys and wheelchairs around the hospital site. They are also involved with a wide range of other duties including, delivering supplies, other duties include changing medical gases cleaning trolleys and equipment. You will also be trained to use the Lorenzo and whiteboard patient tracking systems.
Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive portering and general support to the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Uni (AMU) of a routine or non-routine nature.
This post requires a dynamic, enthusiastic individual preferably with experience of working in a healthcare setting and the ability to work flexibly in a variety of roles and environments. The post holder must have proven ability of working as part of a team.
The post holder will be based predominantly within the Emergency Department at Northern General Hospital, supporting the Acute Medical Unit, surgical, frailty units and S-DEC Unit.
