We are looking for two enthusiastic pharmacists to join our expanding oncology clinical trials team. This is an exciting time to join as we are looking to expand our early phase clinical trial portfolio and develop ATMP studies.

The team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust comprises of approximately 500 pharmacy staff working across five sites and is one of the biggest pharmacy departments in the country.

Main duties of the job

To support the Principal Pharmacist Oncology and Oncology Research in the delivery, management and development of the pharmacy oncology clinical trial service at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield (and the wider pharmacy trials team). The service includes the delivery of ATMP and early phase clinical trials.

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • MPharm level qualification in Pharmacy
  • Post-graduate Clinical Diploma or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Desirable

  • GCP qualification
  • Post graduate education e.g. Masters degree, DPharm, PhD.

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy including clinical trials
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy including oncology
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy including aseptic services
  • Specialist knowledge of cancer pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and experience of handling clinical trial material (IMP).
  • Experience in organising, delivering and evaluating training and education.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of computerised chemotherapy prescribing system e.g. Chemocare.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of chemotherapy regimens: regimen production principles and validation/checking requirements
