Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Therapeutics and Palliative Care Services, at Sheffield Teaching Hospital, as the Service Coordinator.
The post holder will provide first line management and effective leadership to the TPC administration teams, work alongside their team, and with the support of the Operational Manager contribute to and maintain effective systems and processes across the TPC Directorate, ensuring all resources are utilised efficiently.
The admin and clerical service within TPC is undergoing a cycle of improvement meaning you can also contribute to innovations underway and bring your ideas to the creative improvement space.
Main duties of the job
- To co-ordinate administrative services in support of clinical service teams
- Assist the clinical service teams in the delivery of performance metrics
- To support the continual improvement of hospital services to ensure the best possible care for the patients we provide services to
- Ensure a brilliant place to work for our team members
- Ensure the day-to-day workflow of the TPC admin teams is achieved, working with administration teams including PA's, secretarial support and admin staff including team leaders
- In conjunction with the TPC Operational Manager develop, implement and monitor good working practices and protocols ensuring the provision of a high quality service.
- To ensure that all admin and clerical staff are aware of all contractual targets and that they understand the role they play in the delivery of these targets.

- 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent experience
- Educated to degree level
- Knowledge of the full range of administrative policies and procedures, acquired through training and relevant experience
Desirable
- Relevant vocational management and leadership qualifications or training courses demonstrating a proven track of record of commitment to learning and development

- Evidence of maintaining a continuous learning programme.

- Working in an NHS Hospital or other large organisation
- Staff management and supervisory experience
- Administration of out-patient clinics
- Demonstrable track record working with healthcare targets such as the 18-week RTTP
- Evidence of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of professionals ("the MDT") and service users/customers
- An awareness of the challenges currently facing the NHS
Desirable
- Experience investigating incidents reported on the Datix on-line system.
- Demonstrable leadership qualities and line management experience.
