Job summary
M2 is predominantly a Respiratory Ward and is part of the GRaDE care group (Gastro Respiratory and Diabetes Endocrinology.
It is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference on a ward and contribute to providing a friendly, clean, safe and comfortable environment for the patients and ward staff
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a team but also use own initiative.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure bed areas are clean and prepared for new patients
- Care and cleaning of equipment
- Cleaning and making beds
- Care of patients lockers and bed areas
- Assist patients with meal choices as directed by the Nurse in Charge
- Assist with the setting of tables, serving of meals, cleaning crockery, replenishing water jugs

GRaDE Care Group is comprised of 3 clinical directorates:
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology and Hepatology
- Respiratory Medicine
All three directorates operate on the Northern and Central campus' although the acute admitting base for all of the specialties is at the Northern General Hospital. The Care Group has 11 acute base wards at the Northern General Hospital and one acute and one elective base ward at the Central Campus. Outpatient services operate on both campus' and are supported by the Patient Booking Hub at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

- Valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or attainment of Basic REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (can be completed once in post - one day course)
Desirable

- Working towards Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) level 2 or 3 (NVQ2/3)
Experience

- Manual Handling, Fire and Health and Safety Awareness (can be completed once in post
