Job summary
We are looking to appoint to a whole-time Locum Consultant Anaesthetist post with the opportunity for additional training time in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Northern General Hospital. The appointment is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term period of 12 months.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The post will allow the development and enhancement of existing clinical skills and allow the acquisition of further skills relevant to cardiothoracic anaesthesia. As a large tertiary referral unit there will be many training opportunities to take advantage of. The following list gives examples of the specifics of training that we can provide. The onus is on the successful candidate to organise participation in these activities:

- Full and Specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
