Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Whole time Clinical Fellow in Rhinology / Anterior Skull Base / Facial Plastics to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a fixed term period of 12 months commencing 6th January 2025. The ENT service is based at at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The posts do not award a National Training Number and MRCS and MBChB or equivalent are essential. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are equivalent to ST6 level or above.
You will also have completed Specialist Training (or equivalent) and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC or have a CCT date within six months of the date of interview.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job

This post offers an opportunity to gain sub-specialty experience and training in Rhinology / Anterior Skull Base Surgery and Facial Plastics Surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The successful appointee will join a dedicated team providing a high quality sub-specialised, tertiary-level Rhinology / Anterior Skull Base Surgery service as well as an active research team. There will be opportunity to participate in advanced Rhinology / Endoscopic Sinus / Anterior Skull Base surgery.
The appointee will undertake duties and responsibilities in accordance with experience / competence and the needs of the departments. They will be expected to be involved in the day to day running of the rhinology service and care of patients, with involvement in the ward rounds, clinics, theatre sessions, and training of junior medical staff.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Changes in duties and responsibilities will be agreed with the consultant to whom the post holder will be responsible.
