Job summary
We are looking to appoint to a Locum Consultant in Endocrinology to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. based at Northern General Hospital. This post is fixed term for 12 months.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for providing a full range of Endocrinology services across Sheffield and beyond.
The appointee will for the duration of the 12 month contract be ward based with a team of junior doctors (1 SpR, 1 or 2 Core trainees, 1 or 2 FY1 or FY2 doctors and a Physician Associate) and will look after patients allocated to the D&E directorate from a specialist medical take. There are 3 D&E teams. The consultant would undertake a daily review (Monday to Thursday) of patients under one's care. They will undertake 1 clinic a week a combination of new and follow up dependant on service need. The Consultant will lead one of the 3 D&E teams.
