Sister/Charge Nurse - Acute Haemodialysis

Job summary

The Sheffield Kidney Institute is a purpose built nephrology and transplantation centre. Comprising of: two in patient wards. These being 2 haemodialysis wards based at the Northern General Site and 4 satellite haemodialysis centres.

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 6 Sister/Charge nurse post within the acute haemodialysis Bay.

The person we are looking for should have:

Extensive experience working in a Renal care setting .

Current competencies in Haemodialysis, with extensive Haemodialysis experience.

Teaching/Assessor certificate.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent organisational skills.

Excellent problem solving skills.

NMP qualification or the drive to complete.

APACS qualification or the drive to complete.

Main duties of the job

To develop and provide specialised programmes of nursing care to a diverse range of patients and support to carers in the area.

To lead a team of qualified, support and student team members.

To take charge of the ward / dept regularly

Support the Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered

Undertake Haemodialysis, with confidence, both onsite at the Northern General, and offsite at various locations independently.
