Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Logistics Operatives, based within the Supplies and Logistics team in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The post-holder will be employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Managed by Theatre supplies and logistics manager Jemma Barnes.
Applicants will also have effective communication skills and hold a flexible approach to working practices. Ideally applicants should have experience of working within a team and have experience in the control of stock levels although this is not essential.
Applicants should be an effective team player with the ability to use their initiative to resolve day-to-day issues. Ideally applicants will also possess experience and knowledge of Materials Management within the trust, but this is not essential experiences/equivalents will be considered.
Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
- To work as part of a team of distribution operatives to collect used contaminated surgical equipment and deliver back to users after processing at on offsite facility, ensuring that the delivery and collection times are within agreed time frames.
- To provide a storekeeping service ensuring stock rotation in all User areas.
- To ensure all storage areas are maintained in line with cleaning schedules and infection control advice.
- Work closely with internal logistics for sterile stores within the operating department and assist with overall workload.
ROLE OF THE DEPARTMENT
- To provide a delivery and collection service of contaminated and sterilized medical equipment to Theatres, Wards and Departments.
