Job summary

The successful candidates will support the HR Business Partner to provide a comprehensive HR service to a group of clinical specialties and corporate services.

Main duties of the job

You will develop your HR career through managing a significant and varied caseload along with the provision of support and advice in the application of HR policies and terms and conditions. Within this role you will have the opportunity to provide training, coaching and mentoring to healthcare professionals leading and managing a high performing, high profile workforce.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate transferable experience of effectively supporting the management of employee relations cases and advising on terms and conditions. We will also consider applications from candidates who have experience of advising managers on HR related matters and can demonstrate sound judgment of how to approach sensitive and complex casework. A knowledge and understanding of relevant employment legislation is essential.

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Graduate CIPD qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and skills gained through a combination of short courses, postgraduate study and/or from significant experience in the field of general HR/employee relations. Where available, elements that contribute to improved/immediate performance in the job.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in HR/Business Management.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant knowledge and recent experience working in an employee relations / recruitment environment.
  • Experience of managing staff or able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of line management requirements.
  • Significant experience of providing advice and guidance to managers/staff on general HR and/or employee relations issues of a highly complex/sensitive nature.
  • Advising managers on Terms and Conditions of Service.
  • Experience of dealing with Management of organisational change or to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding in terms of the processes involved.
