Senior Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine CT3+

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The closing date is 08 May 2024

Job summary

Senior Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine - ST3+ Level

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Geriatric Medicine department as a Clinical Fellow working at CT3+ Level.

Two posts are available within the department, one of 8 months duration with a view to extension, and the other 12 months. Neither post carries an on call requirement but this could be negotiated if preferred by the successful candidate, subject to availability.

There is opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate teaching programme and whist we expect some engagement with this from all successful candidates, the level of involvement can be tailored to individuals' development needs and interests.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Duties

The post holder will work closely with colleague to provide safe and holistic patient care.

Teaching Duties

All post holders will be expected to contribute to teaching and educational activities within the department. It is anticipated the majority of the educational activities delivered will be on the ward (at the bedside) rather than in non-clinical classroom formats. However, there are a number of Geriatric medicine classroom-based teaching days across the year to which we would also encourage post holders with appropriate aptitude for teaching to contribute. We also have other trainee healthcare professionals in the department (trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners for example) and opportunities to organise and deliver bespoke teaching activities for these groups may arise.

may arise.
