Job summary
We are looking to appoint full-time ST1/ST2 (equivalent) Junior Clinical Fellows in Neurosurgery to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. This is a fixed term service post from 7th August 2024 until 4th February 2025. This may be extendable by mutual agreement.
These Junior Clinical Fellow posts is designed to support the Neurosurgical team, based predominantly at Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. The successful post holder will work alongside Trainee doctors at the same level attending clinics, theatres & ward rounds. A full shift out of hours working pattern is in operation in line with service requirements

About us
This Sheffield Neurosurgical Department is a regional unit serving a population of approximately 2.2 million covering South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, and North Lincolnshire. The Adult Neurosurgical Service is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital with a 52 bed unit, including a 7 bed Neuro-Critical care and a 13 bed HDU. The Paediatric Neurosurgical Service is separately located at Sheffield Children's Hospital immediately adjacent to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The Sheffield Neurosurgical Unit also includes the National Centre for Stereotactic Radiosurgery which comprises two gamma knives, including a Lexsell Perfexion.

Essential
- Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise
- Medical Degree from a recognised UK or overseas university of institution
- ALS
- 1 NHS Experience or Experience of a clinical attachment in a UK neurosurgical unit

- Attendance at relevant courses, e.g. ATLS, Basic Surgical Skills or equivalent, CCrlSP
