Job summary
An exciting opportunity is now available within Jessop Wing, Maternity Unit for a Project Manager (12-month fixed term) to join the Obstetric, Gynaecology, Neonatal,(OGN), Care Group, in a key quality and improvement role. You will work alongside the Maternity and Neonatal teams and also the OGN Quadrumvirate to provide assurance and contribute in the delivery of national quality and safety initiatives, which will include NHS Resolution, Maternity Incentive Scheme (MIS), Saving Babies Lives Vs3 and NHS England Three Year Single Delivery Plan.
Main duties of the job
- Manage projects with an emphasis on delivery, including the development of project plans, ensuring consistency with the Trust's strategic vision, goals, and objectives
- Manage the project using Project Management/Quality Improvement methodology
- The use of standard project documentation. The post holder will be responsible for preparing and writing documents such as the Project Proposal Documentation, Stage Plans, Work plans and Project Closure documents.
- Working with MIP Work Stream Groups, Project Teams and sub-groups. The post holder will be required to lead some of these meetings
- It will be the duty of the post holder to ensure that all agendas, meeting documents and minutes of meetings are completed in line with the performance management targets set within the project's communication plan
- Manage the escalation procedures; ensuring issues and risks raised are escalated to the Director of Midwifery and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare, develop and monitor Project Plans using appropriate software products. The post holder will be expected to present the plan to all relevant stakeholders and Divisions/Directorates and other senior management groups.

The maternity unit has over 6800 births per year and is a Regional Tertiary Maternity Service with a Level 3 Neonatal Unit of 44 cots. A tertiary Gynae-Oncology service and a changing Gynaecology Service, which includes an Assisted Conception Unit, complete the services within the Directorate.
