Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to come and join the MSK Outpatient team based in TSOPD at the Northern General Hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic clinical leader who will not only provide excellent clinical care, but will drive the education and development of their colleagues and the wider service.

The right candidate will be able to work as part of a wider team including their clinical colleagues both on site and in the wider services, the service management and administration team, and the Professional Heads of Service to deliver on innovation, best practice and efficiency.

Main duties of the job

Accountable for the delivery of high quality therapy care within a defined clinical area or pathway.

Responsible for providing expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning and support to staff.

Provide clinical leadership to develop staff within the remit.

Lead evaluation and development of clinical practice within the specialism ensuring compliance with National and local guidelines and frameworks.

Develop the evidence base for practice through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity and support.

Assist and support Clinical Service Managers and Lead Therapists in the service in the improvement and modernisation of services.

MSK Therapy provides integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to the MSK Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The MSK Care group is made up of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain Management, Metabolic Bone, Hand Centre, MSK Therapy and Podiatric Surgery.
