An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and suitably experienced nurse, to develop their skills, knowledge and management experience and work alongside nurses and medical staff to enhance the patient experience within the Hospital out of Hours (HOOH). The benefits are improved medical provision for patients within the Admission Units, Medical and Surgical directorates offering a more consistent approach to service provision.
Applicants are expected to be able to work on both the NGH and RHH/WPH sites
Includes Nights , twilight shifts and weekend day shifts including bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
The role will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team which comprise of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Doctors in Training and Medical Consultant, as well as the more traditional health care roles.
The nurse coordinator will work within a defined scope of practice and to agreed standards applied within a local setting.
The role will be multi factorial and improve the quality of and access to health care provision and strengthen professional leadership.
The post holder will be responsible to the Matron of the HOOH team. The Nurse Coordinator will be expected to utilise their skills and knowledge in the triage, assessment, prioritisation and allocation of patient tasks in the acute setting.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being part of an organisational change within the General Surgery department. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and the management of organisational change.
