Development of clinical devices used within radiotherapy and other departments.

About us

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.

Weston Park Cancer Centre has a modern fleet of Varian linacs (4 x Varian Truebeam, 2 x Truebeam STx, 1 x Varian Clinac 2100, 1 Varian Unique), Varian PDR Brachytherapy equipment, Xstrahl kilovoltage machine and two Philips CT scanners which provide a full range of advanced techniques for our patients including SABR.

A linac replacement project is under way, following construction of two new linac bunkers.

The Radiotherapy Equipment Management Service (REMS) within Radiotherapy Physics at WPCC looks after all the major radiotherapy equipment: performing preventative maintenance and quality assurance as well as all troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring maximum clinical availability and treatment accuracy. The comprehensive mechanical manufacturing facilities on site are well-used. REMS also carry out first line servicing for the Philips CT scanners.

Sheffield is a vibrant city with lots going on and is within a stone's throw of the Peak District National Park.
