An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiothoracic Directorate for a Operational Support Manager to join our friendly and dynamic team.
The Cardiothoracic Directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals provides a first class local and tertiary service for Sheffield and wider South Yorkshire residents.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, forward thinking, organised and an ambitious individual. you will have excellent leadership skills to lead a team of Assistant Operational Managers and drive forward positive change within the Directorate. The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team, delivering service improvement and change management.
You will be expected to have a thorough knowledge or capacity and demand management and national access targets. As an influential leader you will need strong people management skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence staff at all levels of seniority as well as the desire to work in a patient focused environment. You will have the ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines as well as an understanding of how to analyse and translate complex data.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide direct support to the care group operational management team with regard to management of all non-clinical services. They will ensure that resources are available and deployed to provide high standards of service, teaching and research in a patient centred environment. They will provide line management and leadership to all staff for whom they have responsibility.
A high level of collaborative working within the Care Group on designated tasks and projects is essential. The role also requires the post holder to work collaboratively with other teams and departments within the wider organisation and externally as required.
