Job summary
This is an ideal opportunity to begin a career in the NHS at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will have a chance to work for one of the Trust's largest services, Domestic Services, which employs approximately 1300 staff and is part of the Trust's Facilities directorate.
The vacancy will be based in one of our many Community sites located in the city at the old Blood Centre site on Longley Lane, adjacent to the Northern General Hospital. The site houses our Drive Through Phlebotomy and Eye Imaging services.
The vacancy will be on evenings for 20 hours per week with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 7.30pm.
Main duties of the job
The post will require to undertake a range of domestic duties, for example maintaining a high standard of cleanliness using modern cleaning methods and machinery. There is a requirement to attend cleaning requirements of bodily fluids and barrier cleaning when required and training new staff members.
New starters to Domestic Patient Service Assistant roles will undergo training on work methods and protocols etc. before starting on their actual areas and also be required to attend any relevant training for updates for existing or new methods or machinery etc.
