Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Physiotherapist to join the PhysioWorks MSK Physiotherapy and Podiatry team.

PhysioWorks is a clinically led, musculoskeletal service which manages 25,000 patients across the city of Sheffield every year. We employ over 75 staff working from locality bases, GP clinics, and exercise venues providing specialist musculoskeletal assessment and treatment within both individual and group settings.

To fulfil the duties of this post candidates should have attained a level of experience proportionate to the competencies detailed in the Job Description and Person Specifications, and demonstrate significant post registration musculoskeletal experience. Candidates will have gained broad clinical experience as well as relevant musculoskeletal skills. You must be able to demonstrate that you have undertaken relevant CPD. You will have proven supervisory skills, be highly motivated and able to demonstrate adaptability.

PhysioWorks (Sheffield) offers an in-service training programme and regular supervision.

You must be HCPC registered. Due to the requirement to travel between clinic locations and transport non-portable equipment, the post holder is required to be either a car driver with a valid driving licence, or have access to an alternative mode of transport.

Main duties of the job

Carry a clinical caseload including complex cases. Including complex pain patients requiring advanced clinical reasoning and highly specialist physiotherapy, planning and prioritising own work load.

Using clinical reasoning, select and use appropriate assessment techniques for the presenting complaint and suitable for the clinical environment.

Formulate and communicate a clear clinical impression and/or diagnosis to the patient and their clinical record.

Teach, guide and supervise patients as individuals or in groups. Ensure records are kept of this

Communicate complex , sensitive, distressing and contentious information effectively with patients, carers, and staff in the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies.

Provide leadership across the speciality to critically appraise current practice
