Job summary

Therapy Services provides Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Rehabilitation to both inpatients and outpatients. This post is to provide a housekeeping service to the Therapy Services Inpatient Department in spinal injuries at the Northern General site.

The post holder will be responsible for the preparation of the clinical areas of the department. The role include cleaning clinical equipment, stock management ,infection control audits and health and safety risk assessments.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in domestic/ cleaning duties good organisational skills and the ability to work week both independently and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Main duties are as follows :

  • Cleaning/tidying of clinical areas in preparation for patients
  • Care and cleaning of patient/therapy equipment
  • Cleaning/tidying of store rooms
  • Ordering of supplies as directed by the Clinical Service Manager
  • Stock control and rotation
  • Undertake errands, where appropriate, as directed by the Lead Therapist
  • Escort patients to departments where necessary
  • Carry out all duties safely and responsibly, showing awareness of Health and Safety Policies, Infection Control and COSHH Regulations
  • Infection control audits of therapy facilities under direction of the Lead Therapist
  • Room risk assessments within therapy facilities under direction of the Lead Therapist
  • Check and report faulty therapy equipment,
  • Work alongside therapists and members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop a quality service.
