Job summary
We are seeking a full-time Operational Manager for Gastroenterology and Hepatology (G&H) Directorate for a fixed period of 12 months.
This post provides the day-to-day management and leadership of administrative services for G&H at both the Northern General Hospital (NGH) and Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) sites. It will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to contribute to the delivery and transformation of services in a large and complex clinical directorate.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead and further develop our administrative service which includes an outpatient clerical team, the medical secretarial team and the service coordinators for cancer, IBD and Hepatology.
Reporting to the G&H Service Manager, the post holder will work closely with the other Operational Manager for Endoscopy as well as with the multidisciplinary team of consultant medical staff, nurses and administrative staff. Key to the role is ensuring that outpatient capacity is well utilised and that patients are seen within national access time targets. There will be opportunities to participate in service improvements and service planning.
You will need to be educated to degree level and/or be an experienced NHS operational manager.
