Education and Qualifications

Essential

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Masters level qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Qualification in Service/Quality Improvement or equivalent experience
• Evidence of CPD
• Project/Programme Management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2, MSP or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential

• Extensive experience using and coaching quality improvement methods
• Expert knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management in a NHS context.
• Programme or complex project management experience.
• Experience of line managing a variety of grades of staff, including managing attendance, recruitment, appraisal, managing front line discipline and grievances.
• Experience of programme/ project budget setting, holding a delegated budget prior to hand-over to operational function.
• Proven experience in a complex organisation working on projects that involve operational change.
• Demonstrable experience of making significant judgements involving highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis and interpretation from a range of options.
• Experience of working and influencing senior teams.
• Experience of working across professional and organisational boundaries.
• Experience of managing teams.
• Experience of developing and writing complex business cases

Desirable

• Experience of teaching quality improvement methods.
• Experience of working in an acute teaching hospital and/or community services environment at Band 8A or above.
• Initiating and facilitating successful organisational or system wide improvement at a senior level.
• Experience of successfully leading large or complex improvement projects and programmes.
• Experience and confidence to represent the programme at local, national and international level
