Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Assessment and Rehabilitation Therapy Team (ARTT) for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Therapy Assistant to join its multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that provides an excellent, patient centred, evidence based service for adults (predominantly frail older people)
The service provides gym, Therapy clinic and home based rehabilitation for people with Parkinson's disease, at risk of Falls and frail older adults.
We are looking for a motivated and proactive senior Therapy Assistant with excellent communication skills and experience of working in the rehabilitation of older people and community experience is desirable. You will need to be able to work autonomously, (assessing non-complex patients and delivering treatment plans delegated by clinicians) and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
As a Band 3 you will have the support from the Band 5, 6 + 7 Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist.

Main duties of the job
To assist the multidisciplinary team (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy) in the provision of patient centred care.
To implement rehabilitation programmes in the Gym, Therapy Clinic and community settings and complete patient records.
Undertake non-complex assessment of patients within departmental guidelines.
To assist the multidisciplinary team in maintaining an efficient working environment.

- Educated to GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and Maths or equivalent
- Level III NVQ in Health and Social Care/ OR diagnostic and therapeutic support or equivalent relevant qualification /experience
- Demonstrate commitment to life long learning via personal development file

- IT training/qualifications or equivalent
- To have had training in moving and handling skills
Special Skills/Aptitudes

- Due to the requirement to undertake visits and transport non-portable equipment, the post holder is required to be either car driver with a valid driving licence, or have access to an alternative means of transport
