Job summary
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a less than full time Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in Devices and Heart Failure, based at the Northern General Hospital. The successful candidate will join our team of 30 consultants, including 13 non-interventional cardiologists, with a commitment to the non-interventional on call rota on a 1 in 13 basis (pro rata). They will also contribute (pro rata) to the 'non-interventional cardiologist of the week' for ward cover on a 1 in 13.5 basis.
The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in complex device implantation, heart failure and right heart catheterisation.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be responsible for the provision of non-interventional cardiology services as part of the team of consultant interventional cardiologists, to enable Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust to fulfil its service agreements with its commissioners. There will be specialist sessions in herat failure, device implantation and right and left heart catheterisation.
The appointee will be expected to take part in the administrative work relevant to his/her clinical commitment and to contribute to the work of the Directorate. The appointee will also be expected to take an active part in Clinical Audit.
