Job summary
Are you a naturally caring person who recognises the importance of making a difference to patients? Do you believe in treating others with respect and fairness at all times? Are you prepared to work hard within a team whilst maintaining high standards?
If your answer to these questions is yes, the Clinical Support Worker role may be right for you!
You will be required to undertake and successfully pass our Healthcare Support Worker Programme, which is arranged by the Trust and Sheffield College (this is undertaken on a full-time basis during first 5 days in post). In addition, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to complete the competencies required for a Care Certificate once in your clinical area.
For awareness - in line with all NHS Trusts we are currently caring for patients affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across all services.
Interviews will be held on 24th and 25th October 2023.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Support Worker you will provide vital assistance to patients and support them with their physical and emotional care needs. You will also be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients. This is a responsible and rewarding role which has a direct impact on patients' lives. The accompanying job description and person specification details the main duties, responsibilities and individual requirements for the role and we strongly encourage you to read these documents before applying and ensure you have a clear understanding of the role and meet the post requirements.
For those currently employed by the Trust as a Clinical Support Worker, you should instead apply through the Clinical Support Worker transfer process via your line manager.
About us
We currently have vacancies across the Trust, our organisation spans across two hospital based sites, the Northern General Hospital and the Central Campus in the city centre and we also provide Community Services. The majority of roles involve working shift patterns which cover a 24 hour period. This will include working early mornings (which start at 7:00AM), afternoons, and night duty. In many areas, especially in-patient areas, this will also include a requirement to work regular weekend and bank holidays (please see the accompanying additional information document for more details of our shift patterns). Whilst we are supportive of flexible working this is limited to specific areas where it meets the service needs. Successful candidates will be matched to vacancies across the trust based on service needs.
If the above description sounds like you, We would love to hear from you!
