Job summary

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to play a key role in the implementation of the new Oracle Cerner EPR programme incorporating the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Network. They will oversee the technical delivery of the implementation and ensure that this takes place to the agreed timescales. They will provide a clear steer and direction to multi-disciplinary professionals across the network on areas such as data migration, interfaces and device integration and management.

The successful candidate will have a track record of managing successful deliveries of IT programmes/projects with a strong understanding of the methodology behind it. They will draw on their knowledge and experience of managing the technical work as part of a LIMS and/or EPR implementation, making informed recommendations and fully understanding the implications on NHS Trusts across the network, recognising differing workflows and ways of working.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the team in ensuring that all technical project products and tasks are identified as needed to develop full scale project plans and resource requirements for projects within the portfolio. Enable tracking of all individual projects, ensuring delivery of the required outcomes and overseeing exceptions or change requests as required.
  • Proactively manage external senior stakeholders across the delivery portfolio acting as a point of escalation and taking the lead on supporting project managers resolve conflict when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Ensure the correct governance is in place and ensure the relevant management products are developed as part of a controlled definition across the portfolio.
  • Constantly monitor and assess the project, ensuring appropriate progress reports are prepared.
  • Regularly attend key programme governance meetings and present overall or individual project status.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake duties at any of the sites within the SYBP Network.
