Job summary

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, innovative senior podiatry leader to apply for a substantive post as Professional Head of Podiatry & Head of Integrated Community Care Podiatry Service in the Combined Community and Acute Group.

We are seeking a full-time, experienced, highly motivated and skilled Senior Podiatry Leader who can work across the multi-professional team to enable the delivery of high-quality person centred services and care.

Candidates must be HCPC registered, educated to master's degree level or equivalent and have Doctoral or equivalent demonstrable experience in a related specialist area (Human Movement, Podiatry, Footwear). You must be able to demonstrate a track record of clinical and professional leadership at senior level. You will be ready for a new challenge and have the drive to forge relationships early in order to support the aspirations of our clinical teams for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The Professional Head of Podiatry is the principal representative of the podiatry profession in the integrated Trust, providing the Trust with ultimate accountability, assurance, strategy and leadership for the profession focused on high quality care. This includes the Integrated Community Care Podiatry Service, MSK and Podiatric Services. The Head of ICC Podiatry Services is responsible for the leadership and development of the Directorate's Podiatry Service.

The Integrated Community Care Podiatry Service covers a wide range of specialisms; Multi-disciplinary Foot Clinic and domiciliary care, Podiatrist led Clinics, off-loading / casting, Vascular Podiatry, Renal, Patient Empowerment, Nail Surgery, core podiatry and homeless.

With a strong culture of continuous improvement, staff-led service development and research activity the service has a history of publications and conference presentations.

The service has held the Customer Service Excellence award (formerly Charter Mark) since 1996.

Strong multi-disciplinary team working is core to the service including colleagues in Diabetes, Vascular Services, Orthotics, Tissue Viability, Primary Care and Community Nursing.
