Job summary
A new exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Ophthalmic Imaging department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The service performs over 100,000 investigation per year and the successful post holder will work alongside and support Ophthalmic Science Practitioners (OSP'S) an senior imaging team as well as the wider ophthalmology team. The Imaging Team work across 4 sites; Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Eye Centre, Eye Imaging Hub and Sheffield Children's Hospital. The successful applicant will work across the four sites providing basic imaging testing, full training is provided. The department is also keen to support the further development and training of staff.
Main duties of the job
- Optical Coherence Tomography Scanning
- I care (contact) tonometry - determine eye pressure
- Visual Field
- Corneal Topography
- Specular microscopy
- Snellen visual acuity measurement
- Log-Mar visual acuity measurement
- Auto refraction - determine refractive error for purpose of investigation
- Focimetry - determine prescription of optical aids
- Pneumatic (non-contact) tonometry - determine eye pressure
- Instilling drops
