Job summary
The Jessop Wing at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for motivated and enthusiastic midwives to join our Maternity Services Team. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we work towards the national vision informed by the Maternity Services Review: Better Births (2016) and implementation of the Ockendon Independent Maternity Review - immediate and essential actions.
At the Jessop Wing, STH, we are a level 3 tertiary unit caring for a diverse population with approximately 6000 births every year, at home and within the maternity unit on our labour ward or midwifery led unit. This is an exciting opportunity for band 5/6 Midwives, who are passionate about making a difference to join our highly skilled midwives in our community teams who provide care across the city.
Our teams currently work in a traditional model caring for women out of GP surgeries, children's centres and in the family home. Our midwives care for women during the antenatal and postnatal period and offer a homebirth service via an on-call system. They work within the wider multidisciplinary team in the Jessop wing and have established links with city wide support services
By joining one of our vibrant five community teams you will find and experience a friendly, nurturing environment with supportive, tailored professional development supporting onward career aspirations.
