Job summary
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to join the Trust's Cyber Security Team.
Reporting to the Deputy Cyber Security Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for supporting the Trust in improving the Trust's cyber security posture and reducing the risk of impact from a cyber security incident. Ultimately, this role's aim is to help the Trust to protect the data and services that our patients depend on.
Main duties of the job
To support the development of cyber security services in line with the requirements of the Trust and departmental policies, practices, and documentation standards.
Maintain and modify IT infrastructure services in order to ensure they remain secure and fit for purpose.
Run vulnerability valuation of protocols, hardware, and software.
Participate in security incident response efforts.
Configure Windows and Linux host-based security as well as network and cloud-based security systems.
Observe and respond to Intrusion Detection System (IDS) cues and anti-virus alerts.
To monitor and respond to bulletins and alerts that are disseminated through NHS Digital.
