The MSK Physioworks are recruiting to the position of a Band 6 MSK Podiatrist, 35 hours per week, working across multiple sites (RHH, NGH, Central Health clinic and community sites Graves Move More Centre and Concord).
The MSK Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a service for both inpatient and outpatient care for the entire adult population of Sheffield. The services include Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain Management, Metabolic Bone, Hand Centre, PhysioWorks, Staff Physiotherapy Service, MSK Hospital based Therapy Services and Podiatric Surgery.
This post is within the Physioworks Service which would suit those with biomechanical and orthotic prescription experience in the treatment of MSK disorders of the lower limb who wish to further their knowledge as well as join a team committed to learning and developing.
Main duties of the job
Accountable for the delivery of high-quality Podiatric care within a clinical area or pathway
Responsible for delivering expert clinical practice with specialist clinical reasoning.
Contribute to providing clinical leadership and support to develop staff within their remit.
Contribute to evaluation and development of clinical practice within the specialism ensuring compliance with National and local guidelines and frameworks
Contribute to service improvement and development of the clinical area or pathway.

Essential
- Diploma/Degree in podiatry from a RCPOD recognised training establishment.
- Current HCPC registration.
Desirable
- IRMER Certificate
- Non-Medical Prescriber
- Evidence of post graduate MSK and/or biomechanics and/or podiatric surgery, courses.
Experience
Essential
- Good broad clinical experience across a variety of specialities acquired through post registration rotations or equivalent.
- Sound clinical experience of MSK assessment and treatments e.g. orthotic therapy, taping, rehabilitation etc.
- Highly developed analytical clinical assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills relevant to clinical area.
- Evidence of successful multi-professional working
- Experience of delivering high quality educational training sessions.
- Understanding the role of MSK within the NHS
- Training from Higher Education Institution for graduate podiatry student supervision.
Desirable
- Member of relevant Special Interest Group
- Knowledge of current legislation and government policy provision applicable to service area.
- Participation in Clinical Audit or Clinical Effectiveness project.
- Primary care based working experience
