We have the exciting offer of 3 Apprentice Degree opportunities:

  • 2 Specialising in Nuclear Medicine, and
  • 1 Specialising in Radiotherapy Physics.

Main duties of the job

Nuclear Medicine Apprenticeship: Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive substances to look at what is happening the body, not just the physical changes that have already taken place. Images are taken which allow problems to be diagnosed. Apprentice posts are to support the provision of nuclear medicine services and train to become a qualified Healthcare Science Practitioner (HCSP). As an HCSP working in nuclear medicine, you'll be administering radiolabeled pharmaceuticals to patients and then taking images and measurements using highly sophisticated equipment.

Radiotherapy Physics Apprenticeship: Radiotherapy is the treatment of cancer with high energy radiation, such as x-rays. These apprenticeship posts are to support provision of a radiotherapy physics services and train to become a qualified HCSP, where you'll be responsible for creating individual computerised treatment plans for patients receiving radiotherapy treatment, as well as other highly technical, and patient-related duties.
