Job summary
A number of exciting opportunities have arisen at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals' to work within Switchboard as a Telephonist.
All of the shift vacancies we have can be full or part time, covering a variety of hours, including nights.
The Telecoms department provides voice services to the 5 physical hospitals that deliver acute services to the Trust, alongside a plethora of Community sites across the City.
At its core, the department is responsible for the organisation's 24/7/365 switchboard service and provision of technical support to some 11,000 telephone extensions which deal with in excess of 3 million incoming and 2 million outgoing calls a month.

Main duties of the job
Act as a first point of contact for internal and external calls.
Taking internal emergency calls on behalf of organisation.
Acting as a single repository of information for callers both internal and external.
Act as an intermediary between STH Telephone Engineers for fault reporting purposes.
