This vacancy is open to current employees of the five Acute Trusts name below who are part of The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Network only. Any other applications will be rejected and not taken forward.

We are looking for a motivated and innovative Solution Architect with a strong attention for detail and a passion for technology to understand and deliver on designated aspects of the Trust's and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Network new LIMS implementation.

A single LIMS is key deliverable of the SYBP Network Transformation Programme and will be implemented as a single domain solution with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) Electronic Patient Record (EPR). The LIMS will be deployed in a phased approach to all 5 Trusts within SYBP following the EPR go live.

The successful candidate will have highly developed knowledge, experience and expertise gained within a large, complex, multi discipline healthcare organisation and will act as lead on the technical product design. The Solution Architect will work closely and engage with colleagues from the wider EPR Programme and key parties including Radiology and Pathology, IT, Clinicians and third party suppliers to develop the technical and business strategy for diagnostic systems across SYBP.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within the EPR team, in collaboration with the Programme Manager, members of the Pathology teams across the Network Trusts and Oracle Cerner as supplier. They will be responsible for ensuring the LIMS activities are delivered within agreed timescales. As an experienced Solution Architect, they will be able to influence LIMS design, identify when problems or risks arise, offer practical solutions and escalate when appropriate.

Using extensive technical knowledge and expertise, the successful candidate will provide oversight and support to the wider management of Digital Transformation programmes of the Trust, SYBP and Integrated Care System (ICS). The post holder will work closely and in cooperation with all stakeholders and where necessary, use effective negotiation and influencing skills to constructively challenge and resolve disputes when opinions may differ.

Whilst leading on LIMS implementation, the post holder will also have oversight of the wider LIMS programme team and be responsible for allocation/monitoring of work and technical leadership in liaison with the network Trusts leadership teams . They will use effective time management skills and be able to identify clear priorities whilst working to tight deadlines. It will be an expectation that the post holder will maintain their knowledge and expertise on Order Communications to identify where training is required and to be able to advise others on those identified learning needs.
