Job summary

The position of Senior CAD Technician will be accountable to the Head of Information and Governance they will specifically responsible for the day-to-day management of the Estates Directorate drawing records, O&M Manuals and asbestos reports stored on the estates shared drive and administrate a Trust wide and internet property register (MICAD) and to manage, produce, update, collate and modify the directorates drawing records and to maintain an auditable trail which meets the requirements of statutory and central NHS standards.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for managing STH property and estate building data including data entry to the Trust internet property register (IPR) MICAD and to ensure all information accessed via MICAD is up to date, accurate and relevant.
  • Maintain STH building and building services CAD models from as built data supplied by Estates Capital and Operations teams.
  • To be responsible for the loading of CAD plans into the MICAD system.
  • Maintain space utilisation data (room function, area, department etc.) on the Trust internet property register (IPR) MICAD.
  • Undertake site surveys across Trust land and property portfolio for verification of STHFT areas.
  • Build and maintain Trust building/asset information CAD models.
  • Maintain existing asbestos records on MICAD following refurbishment works.
  • Search existing O & M manuals for drawings that should be included on the system and process these accordingly to a digital format for inclusion into MICAD.
  • To be an administrator of the MICAD system with regards to user management and security.

  • Post graduate level in AutoCAD or equivalent level of qualification in relevant subject.
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuing personal and professional development
  • Specialised in training AutoCAD applications and software.
  • City & Guilds Autodesk - AutoCAD Advanced level 3 or willing to undertake training

Desirable

  • Project management qualification

  • Demonstrate a successful track record of delivering drawings for diverse programmes of work.
  • Utilising AutoCAD in a construction/architectural environment
  • To have experience of communicating with clients and building users.
  • Excellent Technical /Regulatory Knowledge
