We are excited to be recruiting to the role of Specialist Blood Sciences Lead for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) network.

Main duties of the job
As Specialist Blood Sciences Lead, working with the SYB Pathology Manager, you will provide senior leadership and oversight for a range of strategic, operational and business management activities for Specialist Blood Sciences, including the consistent delivery of key quality and performance standards, income and activity targets, productivity and efficiency plans, and robust annual business plans. You will be responsible for the management, compliance and implementation of Local and National policies, with responsibility for all non-medical staff.
You will have collective responsibility with the SYBP Scientific Director and Pathology Manager for the strategic development of services in Specialist Blood Sciences and across SYBP, the delivery of key performance indicators and objectives, achieving the clinical standards required to comply with high-quality, well-governed, equitable and patient-centred services.
Along with leading the discipline you will support network wide projects such as the implementation of a new Laboratory Information Management System and a Managed Equipment Service procurement. You will provide leadership through the critical stages of forming a single SYB service when Partner Trusts transfer services to Sheffield Teaching Hospital as host of the network through to service reconfiguration.
