Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen within Charles Clifford Dental Services for the recruitment of a Dental Nurse Assessor to work within the Charles Clifford Dental Services and in partnership with Sheffield College. This will include apprentice dental nurses within the Charles Clifford Dental Services and dental practices.
Candidates must hold the City & Guilds Assessor Award be hardworking, committed, organised and flexible. They must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to work as part of a team in supporting Apprentice Dental Nurses through their vocational training and achievement of the extended diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3.
It is essential that the successful candidate has a clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work as part of the CCDH team involved in the delivery of the Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3.
- To identify at induction any issues which may impede access for the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse to fair and reliable assessment and to identify any needs they may have.
- To identify expected unit completion and award completion dates at induction, including the End Point Assessment preparation and completion within the fixed term contractual period
- To discuss and agree with the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse contact dates at the beginning of the training period and identify which are observations and which are portfolio sessions.
- To encourage the candidate to bring forward any previous experiences, skills, and knowledge to their award.
- To plan all assessment both direct and indirect and agree these plans with the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse.
- To ensure the plans cover all unit and award requirements and that strict target dates are met by the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse.
- To use a range of standardised, relevant, fair, and appropriate methods of assessment, to include observations, written and verbal questions, expert witness testimonies, professional discussions, and self-reflective accounts.
- To ensure the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse understands their award and its requirements and to always involve them.
- To ensure indirect evidence is directly attributable to the Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurse.
