This is an opportunity for a GMC fully registered doctor to join a busy vascular centre in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK.
Sheffield Vascular Institute is a tertiary specialist referral centre for the management of complex arterial and venous diseases. We work closely and support a wide range of other specialities and services including: Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracics, Plastics, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Renal Surgery etc. The Institute has a dedicated theatre, modern vascular laboratory and a digital angiography suite equipped to perform Endovascular procedures. Day case varicose veins lists and/or outpatient clinics are also held at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Barnsley District General Hospital and Rotherham General Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical care to patients whilst also using the post as a learning forum to maintain good medical practice, and to strive towards maintaining ones own personal development through learning, teaching and managerial opportunities.
The duties of the post are subject to review from time to time in the light of changing requirements of the service. The post holder may be asked to perform exceptional irregular commitments outside of normal rostered duties as are essential to maintain the emergency medical service. This role will work within a multidisciplinary work-force, including Nursing, Allied health care professionals and Support services mainly based on wards.
