**South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw collective recruitment for Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust, Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust, Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust**

South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SY&B), under the umbrella of both the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) and the Maternity Hosted Network (MHN), is looking to recruit enthusiastic newly qualified registered midwives to provide high quality, holistic perinatal midwifery care, sensitive to the needs of the woman and her family at one of the four hospital trusts within the SY&B region. (Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust, Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust, Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust).

Main duties of the job

You will complete the employing Trust's Preceptorship package, until these individual packages are succeeded by one agreed LMNS/ MHN Preceptorship model.

The package will be undertaken with local support and as part of your professional development and transition to Band 6.

During the preceptorship period you will have the opportunity to provide care across the perinatal pathway in a variety of settings. It will help you to identify your strengths and highlight the areas requiring further development for the benefit of the women you care for. This in turn will enable you to become a confident and competent midwife, practising in accordance with the NMC Code (2018) and give you the opportunity to prepare for your first NMC Revalidation in 3 years' time.

Within each Trust the Preceptorship Lead Midwife will provide you with ongoing support with any additional training needs throughout the programme. The LMNS/HN anticipates that it will take 18 to 24 months (whole working time equivalent) for the post holder to progress to a Band 6 midwife position.

We are Equal Opportunities employers and welcome applications from all sections of society regardless of disability, age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief.

About us

Please note as SY&B are recruiting collectively as a Region, your application will be assessed throughout the process from representatives from the four Trusts. You should therefore be aware that your details will be shared with appropriate people from these organisations for the purpose of this recruitment.

Attached to this advert are "Additional Information Documents" for each of the four Trusts, providing you with supplementary details of what these offer from an employer's perspective. As part of the application process, you will be asked to indicate your top three preferences of the Trust you would like to work at, in order of first choice, second choice and third choice. However, if you do not have a preference, please indicate this. If you could please input your preference information at the very top of the supporting information section of your application.
