Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Service Manager Gynaecology (Reproductive Services) to join the Gynaecology Department in the OGN Directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play an integral part of the overall directorate management function and will provide direct support to the Service Manager and deputise accordingly.
The successful candidate will be an experienced NHS manager who is familiar with managing hospital services and who has proven leadership experience.

Experience of delivering change through teams is essential whilst being able to develop sound working relationships at all levels, be an effective communicator and show a commitment to improving quality and overall patient experience.
The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and clerical services and will work collaboratively with others to deliver the operational, quality and financial priorities of the department.
Main duties of the job
This role is primarily responsible for the operational delivery of the administration functions which support the Reproductive Services within Gynaecology. Including cross cover arrangements with the Assistant Service Manager Gynaecology.

Providing senior leadership within the directorate the post holder will ensure the smooth delivery of above operations through effective planning, monitoring, escalation and problem solving. They will demonstrate effective judgement and independent decision making.
The post holder will provide primary management to Service Co-ordinators within the Gynaecology service, secondary management and oversight of all other administrative and clerical staff employed within the Gynaecology Administration Team.
