Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for motivated and enthusiastic midwives to join out Maternity Services Team. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we work with the recommendation from the Better Births report and develop our Continuity of Carer teams.
There are vacancies for Band 5 Midwives to join the Jessop Wing Maternity Services in Sheffield working within our Continuity of Care teams across both the community and hospital settings. We are excited to be developing a service which will meet the ambition of 51% of women receiving Continuity of Care by March 2022.
Main duties of the job
We have various Band 5 midwifery positions available and the Continuity of Carer model offers flexibility to enable you to balance your home life and your work life.
If you join our team as a Band 5 midwife you will find a friendly, nurturing environment with a robust preceptorship programme designed to support your professional development and career aspirations.
Your induction will be supported by a team of Clinical Midwifery Educators and your smooth transition to the department will be further enhanced by an established team of Professional Midwifery Advocates.
About us
The Directorate of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology is based at the Jessop Wing which is linked to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and is a maternity unit with Baby Friendly accreditation. The maternity unit has approximately 6500 births per year and is a Regional Tertiary Maternity Service with a Level 3 Neonatal Unit of 44 cots. A Tertiary Gynae-Oncology service and Gynaecology Service, which includes an Assisted Conception Unit, complete the services within the Directorate.
