An exciting opportunity has arisen to become the Operational Manager for Endoscopy in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
We are one of the largest endoscopy units is the UK, operating a 2-site endoscopy service delivering over 22,000 procedures per annum. We are seeking to appoint a full time Operational Manager to provide day to day leadership and management of the Endoscopy Suites at both the Northern General Hospital and Royal Hallamshire Hospital. This post will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to contribute to the transformation of services in a large, complex and ultimately very rewarding Clinical Directorate.
You will need to be educated to degree level and/or be an experienced operational manager. Relevant NHS experience is essential, preferably within a speciality delivering high volume procedural activities.
Please note this vacancies working days are Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for leadership, management and performance of all administrative functions and staff, with a key focus on demand and capacity planning and service delivery. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team of Consultant Medical Staff, Matrons, Nurses and Nurse Specialists to ensure that resources are available and deployed to provide high standards of service, teaching and research in a patient-centred environment.
You will be responsible for the delivery of financial, activity, waiting list and waiting time targets. You will provide line-management and leadership to all staff for whom you have responsibility. There will be opportunities to participate in service improvement initiatives and service planning activities.
