Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and hard-working person to join our team of chefs at Northern Hospital who provide high-quality food to all our patients, visitors and staff.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have some experience in working with a team of people within a large Catering Department. Knowledge of producing meals for special diets would be an advantage. This is an opportunity to work within an award-winning team who actively strive to achieve the highest standards, being awarded Soil Association accreditation to Bronze level and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance Standard.
Successful candidates must demonstrate initiative, work to high standards and show excellent food production skills. Candidates will be to be educated to GCSE level at Grade 9 to 4 (or equivalent) and must have City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 (or equivalent) or NVQ qualification. Further training is available for your development.
About us
This post is based at Northern General Hospital although working across sites may be required.
Each post is designed to cover the demands of the service. Shift times may start from 6.00 am and end at 8.00 pm and applicants must be able to cover those times.This includes weekends as relevant to the post.
There is the opportunity to join the NHS Pension scheme and childcare facilities are available on the NGH site. Holidays commence at 27 days (pro-rata) per year and rise on service to 33 (pro-rata).
