Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our team to deliver training around a number of healthcare related and mandatory topics. The purpose of this role is to support training programmes which will prepare staff for their new roles within the Trust. You will be expected to deliver training on a variety of Induction programmes such as Prepare to Care, Healthcare Apprenticeships, the Care Certificate, Corporate Induction, Mandatory Training Topics and Customer Service Apprenticeships.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver and support Trust-wide education and assessment programmes
  • Provide support to local education teams across the Trust
  • To actively support the Learning & Development facilitators, coordinators and subject experts to deliver training by educating a range of staff in all areas and at all levels, networking and sharing best practice.
  • The post holder will contribute to administrative duties related to education programmes such as recording attendance and evaluation
  • To contribute to work within the wider learning and development department as required, including supporting clinical work during periods of winter pressure or a state of emergency.

The Department of Learning and Development acts as a central resource for the whole Organisation and works in partnership with other Departments in the Trust and across the wider Integrated Care System. It is responsible for ensuring that all Trust staff have access to a wide range of learning opportunities both within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and other educational establishments to ensure they are knowledgeable and competent to carry out their role in the delivery and support of high quality patient care.

Job responsibilities

Education and Training

  • Participate in planning, organising and delivering of formal / informal education programmes utilising a variety of approaches with flexibility to meet changes in demand
  • Contribute to the production of accurate, electronic reports and resources including presentations, spreadsheets, data as required
  • Act as personal tutor for a group of learners
  • To act as a resource within the Learning and Development Department in relation to areas of expertise within the team
  • Contribute to systems which provide feedback on issues raised in training

Management and Leadership

  • Contribute to the effective management of projects
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for support, advice, and information
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritise workload to meet timescales required
  • Contribute to flexible multidisciplinary working across all sites

Team / Partnership Working

  • To work with the Learning & Development Facilitator and other team members to contribute to the development of strategies
  • Support the Learning and Development Facilitator to disseminate assigned Learning & Development projects across the Trust
  • Communicate effectively with all team members
  • To actively participate in broader learning and development department events and objectives
  • Respond to requests for information/advice as and when they arise

Quality & Governance arrangements

  • To contribute to strategies and projects in order to satisfy education governance requirements
