Job summary

Assists the in-house building teams with the routines and physical attendance of operational building maintenance

Must be able to clearly demonstrate practical skills awareness of the following building trade tasks, Joinery, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, Concrete. Works, Paving Works & Minor roofing repairs, Suspended ceiling works etc

Required to assist and attend the Planned Preventative Maintenance inspection routines for Fire Doors, Structural Fire Compartments.

Building fabric and structure, including walls, ceilings, floors and cubicle partition assemblies etc. This task attendance requires the observation skills and practical knowledge to assess the extents of any defects and record them by written notation. Any repairs shall be attended by the designated qualified trades staffs.

Main duties of the job

Within these modern initiatives, individuals shall need to be flexible with a keen and objective willingness to participate and work within a small team of professionals

Driving duties Estates Vehicles for stores duties and also grounds and gardens vehicles. Also collecting and taking water samples for legionella to the Trust Laboratories at the Northern Campus and collecting material for lock smiths and building merchant suppliers etc.

Health and safety / COSHH maintaining and cleaning joiners workshop and machine shop to ensure workshop safety and assisting building craft operative joiners with manual handling and lifting

Estates Stores Cover during periods of staff leave or staff training

Estates Stores Assists with annual stores stock takes

About us

To provide a fully comprehensive Estates Management Service to the Trust including Operational Maintenance, to ensure life utilisation and reliability of its assets and equipment.

  • oMust be able to demonstrate a high degree of versatility and flexibility across the full spectrum of building related trades, in construction, renovation and maintenance. This includes inter alia the ability to work with a variety of related materials, brick laying, plastering and painting trades.
  • oFull Driving Licence

  • oExperience of working in and around the Healthcare environments and buildings
  • oFull working Knowledge and application of Trust and departmental policies and procedures as they relate to the sphere of the work.
