Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our existing team of Clinical Imaging assistants in Radiology.
Candidates will be expected to assist members of the multidisciplinary imaging team in delivering a high standard of care. This includes fully preparing patients and associated environments prior to imaging, including patient observations (ECG, BP, O2 saturations etc.), and other general CIA duties.
Main duties of the job
Assisting other members of the Multidisciplinary Imaging Team in delivering a high standard of direct patient care and associated duties. To ensure that safe practice is carried out in accordance with departmental protocols.

Job responsibilities
- Prepare clinical rooms for examinations appropriately.
- Ensure all appropriate equipment and sterile, disposable stock items which may be required are monitored in respect of quality and quantity.
- Prepare suitable and sufficient Contrast Media (of the correct type) for each procedure (with reference to any specific Imaging professionals requirements).
- Ensure a clean (or sterile) work surface (or trolley) is available if required.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of stock is available within the confines of the Examination room for each procedure.
- Dispose of any soiled linen, dressings, instruments, sharps and disposable items with reference to Infection Control / Universal Precautions and Health and Safety Regulations.
- Liase with Radiologists, Radiographers, Clinical Scientists, Technicians, Nurses, Clerical and Ward staff as necessary to ensure an efficient patient throughput can be achieved.
- Be aware of any developments in techniques or procedural changes.
- To have a flexible approach to working patterns i.e. moving around to suit the workload, this may be on a daily basis.
- Bring patient to and/or receive patient in department checking documentation, notes etc. available in accordance to departmental policy.
- Perform pregnancy tests on patients as required
