Main duties of the job

We are expanding our services; a Nuclear Medicine Consultant is sought to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate, to help strengthen and develop the service.

The Nuclear Medicine Department at University Hospital Southampton provides a comprehensive diagnostic imaging and molecular radiotherapy (MRT) service to local and regional patients. Our dedicated department staff go above and beyond to ensure patients receive outstanding care and treatment. Our small but committed consultant team always strive to achieve these high standards.

We are at the forefront of innovative practice and have been recognised by the UK nuclear medicine community for this. Our vision is to be a leading UK centre. This is a vital role in our department to support the existing consultants and also other department staff members.

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCS / MRCP or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
  • Competent in Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine imaging, including SPECT CT and PET CT

  • FRCR or equivalent
